Good to know
Answers to common questions about therapy with InMotion, appointments, payment, insurance, and what to expect along the way.
It depends on what you are working through, how often you attend, and how much you are able to practice between sessions. Many people begin with weekly sessions, then space them out as goals are met.
Progress is rarely a straight line, and you stay in charge of the pace. If you take a break, you can come back for a check-in whenever you need one.
Your first session is a conversation. Veronica will get to know you, hear what brought you in, and talk through your goals. Together you will decide on a plan that fits what you need.
For teens, Veronica may talk with a parent or guardian, with the teen, or with both, depending on what feels most comfortable. You are welcome to ask any questions before you begin.
InMotion Counseling does not bill insurance companies directly, so sessions are paid at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made. Some clients ask their insurance company about out-of-network reimbursement and submit the receipt themselves.
You can see current rates on the Therapy Fees page, or ask Veronica about payment questions during your free consultation.
Many plans include some mental health coverage, but it varies. Because InMotion Counseling is out-of-network, some plans may reimburse part of the cost of a session, and reimbursement is not guaranteed.
Before you begin, it helps to call your insurance company and ask about out-of-network mental health benefits, deductibles, and whether a diagnosis is required. A health savings or flexible spending account may also be an option.
